Today, the University of North Dakota and Christus Rex, rests on the ancestral lands of the Pembina and Red Lake Bands of Ojibwe and the Dakota Oyate - presently existing as composite parts of the Red Lake, Turtle Mountain, White Earth Bands, and the Dakota Tribes of Minnesota and North Dakota.
We acknowledge the people who resided here for generations and recognize that the spirit of the Ojibwe and Oyate people permeates this land. As a university community, we will continue to build upon our relations with the First Nations of the State of North Dakota - the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation, Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Nation, Spirit Lake Nation, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, and Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.
The University Land Acknowledgement was developed through the expertise of many cultural leaders, experts, and elders. To read the statement in full and the list of experts, click the button below.
We have four study rooms that are great escapes from dorms and noisy roommates. They are great spots to meet for group projects and are open for anyone to use.
Our student lounge is a cozy escape. Let the sun shine in through the windows, turn on the fireplace and snuggle up on the couch - this space is great no matter the weather!
Have a group project to plan? Need a space for an online meeting? Look no further than our library. Check in with the office and we will set you up with cameras, speakers, adapters etc.
Our kitchen is a well-loved place on campus and feeds so many people every week! This is also a fun space we lend out to serve all of UND. Have a club or group looking to use the kitchen? Reach out to the office today!
The Sanctuary is not just a worship space. Groups use it to host study hours, music lessons take place, and we get to offer the space to groups like the Varsity Gentleman and other groups on campus.
We have a coffee/hot chocolate/tea nook in our lobby area. Come and make yourself a warm drink and just be.
We love sharing our building with Archives Coffeehouse. It is open every day of the week and it is so convientent to grab a bite to eat or a coffee and use a study room or meet up with friends. Click below for more about Archives.
